Plantae Project - The Angiosperms

Plantae Project - The Angiosperms

What is my Plantae Project?

I take a lot of plant photos and design various floral beaded pieces of art. I thought it would be a fun goal to somehow photograph and/or artistically cover as many plant families as possible. Since I can't afford to travel to see many of these families in person, I decided to fill in the missing ones with art. Ideally, I would end up with both types of images for all families. Also, like the Asteraceae family, many of these Angiosperm families have SO many species in them I could just concentrate on covering just one family. So many of these families will end up with many photos and art designs in their section.

As I collect and correctly identify new photos and design new art pieces I will add them into my Angiosperm directory here.

Why Angiosperms?

I chose to start my Plantae Project with Angiosperms because it's what I began photographing and designing. Angiosperms are the group that has the most popular plants.

White Bird of Paradise White Bird of Paradise
Originating in South Africa, this amazing plant is prized for its dark blue and white flowers that resemble tropical birds. The robust plants are great for the patio in southern areas where they can grow quite tall, or as a potted plant in colder areas where they can be controlled. Grows 5-10' tall.
